The school wants its pupils to be involved with and gain both pleasure and success through a range of sporting activities. We have run a very successful swimming team for many years, but provision for training and participation in a range of other sports is provided within the school.
The Sports Council for Wales supports the Dragon Sport initiative. This aims to give youngsters the chance to get involved with sporting activities and allow them to develop their skills and support those wishing to pursue their sport at a higher level. There is an emphasis on fun and enjoyment as well as introducing children to the importance of fitness and physical activity for a healthy life.
Three class teachers have been trained to run Dragon Sports activities for children wishing to develop and improve invasion game skills. Activities are principally offered to Key Stage 2 children in after school sessions.
| Autumn | Rugby Skills | Year 5 and 6 Boys and Girls | Mr G. Evans, Rugby Development Officer |
| Spring | Netball Skills | Keystage 2 Boys and girls | Mrs K Regan and Mrs A Edwards |
| Summer | Hockey Skills | Keystage 2 Boys and girls | Mr M. Kaye |
After school sessions always involve more than one adult. Parents are encouraged to get involved, and any wishing to train to get involved should contact the Head Teacher to join in the next training day.
There is an Annual Sports Day and children are encouraged to take part in competitive sports when the opportunity arises.
